SNARE

Snare is Boryo’s third solo exhibition, presenting a distinctive body of work that builds on the humanoid forms first introduced in Dompefy.
Rooted in both science and music, the name Snare draws inspiration from SNARE proteins, essential for neural communication and from the snare drum, a rhythmic force that gives life and momentum to sound. From these dual foundations, the exhibition speaks to connection, solidarity, and collective action. Just as neurons rely on precise connections to function, Snare reflects Te-Apo’s belief in community support as a drive for meaningful change.

brushes n minutes 2025

“Brushes n minutes” was a one-of-a-kind art event where art and awareness came together for a great cause. During this event, participants had the opportunity to create beautiful artworks, and contribute to a meaningful campaign for stroke awareness.

dompefy 2024

Dompefy, the 2nd solo art exhibition by Boryo, featured a collection of works that brings to life the Faceless Ones (FOs/Efos).
These uniquely formed characters symbolise the recovering spirit of underprivileged stroke victims, portraying people from all walks of
life, and different eras, emphasising the widespread prevalence of stroke regardless of social standing and historical contexts.

afasebiri 2023

Afasebiri, Te-Apo’s inaugural art show and auction, addressed the challenge of stroke in Ghana. Beyond showcasing art, we spotlighted the difficulty of affording CT Scans. Proceeds from the sale of each art piece was used to seed a dedicated stroke fund to the cause. FUN FACT: Derived from the Akan Language, ‘Afasebiri’ means ‘purple’ — the global colour for World Stroke Day.
